Taekwon-Do not only helps in developing the physique of the practitioner but Taekwon-Do is known as one of the best ways of developing and enhancing the emotional, perceptual and psychological characteristics necessary for those involved with long hours of academic study.
Each element of the Taekwon-Do course is taught and practised scientifically and works on creating a strong character instilled with confidence, pride, perseverance, tenacity and much more.
Structured individual and team exercises develop humility, courage, alertness and accuracy, adaptability as well as self-control. The development of fundamental movements and patterns teach flexibility, grace, balance and co-ordination. Taekwon-Do training as a whole soon permeates the conscious and subconscious actions of the practitioner creating a confident, diligent, precise and imaginative student.
“Taekwon-Do has been a major part of my life throughout my secondary school education, at both GCSE and A levels, and at university level. During revision periods it was the perseverance and thoroughness instilled through Taekwon-Do training which enabled me to make the most of the time I had and to focus on the tasks ahead.”
David Bogen BA (Hons) Arch RIBA – UKTD Instructor
The training one receives in Taekwon-Do has numerous other advantages. A session of training refreshes the student and helps calm and clear the mind, permitting the student to once again focus completely on studying. There are times during school studies where students become lethargic and distracted after long hours in the confines of a classroom. Taking time out to be in a different environment and to train hard relieves any built up tensions and stresses, making one much more productive upon returning to study.
